This exceptional silk ikat chapan coat from the mid-19th century showcases the grandeur of Central Asian textile artistry. Woven in brilliant hues of crimson, ochre, midnight blue, and forest green, the ikat pattern presents a regal, symmetrical motif with bold vertical movement and complex detailing. The dramatic palette and design reflect the sophistication of the abrband resist-dyeing technique used by master artisans of the period.
