Silk Ikat Chapan No. 102

This exquisite silk ikat chapan from Uzbekistan dates to the early 20th century and exemplifies the bold visual language of Central Asian textile traditions. Hand-dyed using the resist-dye ikat technique, the robe features striking vertical bands of hot pink, saffron orange, moss green, and soft blush—arranged in a rhythmic, painterly sequence.

The exterior is crafted from silk ikat, while the interior is fully lined in silk, providing a luxurious drape and finish. A narrow woven trim accents the sleeve cuffs and edges. Please note that there is a minor visible stain, consistent with the age and authenticity of the piece.
